State AMI operations Lead (AMI)

About the Role / Job Purpose

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is a fast-growing business for Apraava with operations across multiple states in India, including Assam, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. While the Accounts & Finance function is centrally located at the Registered Office in Delhi, this role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of the AMI business at the state level, including implementation, operations & maintenance (O&M), and revenue/cash management, in line with contractual and SLA requirements.

 

 

Principal Accountabilities / Key Responsibilities

 

Overall Responsibility for AMI Business in the State (Implementation, O&M, Revenue/Cash)

-Manage relationships with key DISCOM stakeholders directly impacting smart meter rollout in the state.

-Lead circle-wise project planning for operational activities, including meter installation, meter advising, and bill generation.

-Plan and forecast meter supply requirements and coordinate with the Meter SCM team.

-Monitor and report daily field progress, including team mobilization, meter installation, old meter handover, and meter reporting in HES.

-Coordinate and monitor meter supplies post-delivery, including weekly reconciliation of meters at warehouses.

-Implement and monitor HSSE guidelines and conduct periodic audits in coordination with the HSSE team.

-Coordinate consumer awareness activities at site with DISCOM and PR teams.

-Ensure continuity of AMI operations in the state in line with SLA requirements.

-Lead and manage circle-wise teams, monitor field-level operational issues, and ensure timely resolution through stakeholder engagement.

-Ensure full compliance with AMI SOPs and enforce zero tolerance for malpractices in line with the Apraava Code of Conduct, including project partners.

-Define and monitor operational KPIs for smart meter rollout in alignment with yearly and monthly targets.

-Validate monthly SLA reports and manage invoice submission to DISCOM.

-Handle capacity planning, conduct interviews, manage hiring, and ensure training for new onboarded team members.

Skills and Knowledge

Educational Qualifications:

Engineering Graduate / Post-Graduate

Functional Skills:

Exposure to Energy Distribution Utilities (experience in AMI / AMR projects would be an added advantage)

Experience:

10+ years of relevant experience
