We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Project & Construction to lead the execution of renewable energy projects from planning through commissioning. The role ensures delivery within defined timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements, while enabling smooth transition from project execution to operations.
The position involves close coordination with contractors, land and permitting teams, finance, procurement, and other cross-functional stakeholders. The role also champions HSSE standards, manages vendor payments, mentors site teams, and supports business development through feasibility and regulatory alignment.
Project Planning & Execution
-Oversee project planning to ensure alignment with schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
-Execute project closure with OEMs/Contractors, including asset transfer from Project Phase to Operations.
-Write contractual correspondence, letters, and claims to OEMs/Contractors.
-Assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims through detailed delay analysis.
-Lead periodic review meetings with contractors and maintain records.
Land, Permits & Compliance
-Coordinate with land and permitting teams to ensure land acquisition and approvals as per project schedules.
-Develop project-specific approval needs and design requirements to meet PPA and regulatory requirements in coordination with BD&C.
-Ensure full compliance with HSSE policies and enforce zero deviation at site.
-Allocate budgets for corrective measures as per ESGD recommendations at project sites.
Financial & Commercial Management
-Define scope matrix for new projects and BD contracts.
-Manage timely payouts to vendors and contractors as per contract terms.
-Forecast project cash flow requirements and coordinate with the Finance & Accounts team.
-Work closely with the Project Finance team to support Condition Precedent (CP) closures and documentation for timely drawdowns.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
-Facilitate seamless material flow in coordination with Procurement and Contracts teams.
-Work closely with planning and controlling leads for material flow, contractor deployment, OE deployment, cash flow, scheduling, and tracking.
-Collaborate with BD&C teams on project suitability and feasibility studies during origination.
People & Resource Management
-Train and mentor site teams to support their development.
-Plan resources for future projects and manage redeployment post-project completion in collaboration with HR.
Education & Certification
-Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
-Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience
-Minimum 15 years of extensive experience in Construction and Project Management.
