National Customer Development Manager
Job Purpose
The National Customer Development Manager is responsible for leading performance, operations, and strategy execution across organized retail (Modern Trade).
The role requires a strong sales mindset and close coordination with sales teams, Key Account Managers (KAMs), distributors, and supply chain functions to drive revenue growth, ensure compliance, and maintain operational excellence and on-ground execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Planning & Execution
- - Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets in modern trade channels.
- - Collaborate with Key Account Managers (KAMs) to drive sell-in and sell-out plans.
- - Ensure effective execution of trade promotions and marketing activities in stores.
- - Develop and implement Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies and track key sales performance metrics.
- - Monitor and analyze sales performance by account and geography.
2. Operations Management
- - Streamline sales operations processes including order management, dispatch tracking, and stock replenishment.
- - Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
- - Monitor fill rates, Out-of-Stock (OOS) levels, and returns across modern trade partners.
- - Ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) with retail partners.
3. Team & Stakeholder Management
- - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, and logistics to align operational objectives.
- - Train and mentor sales support teams, ASMs, TSMs, and merchandisers to enhance store-level execution.
- - Liaise with modern trade partners to gather operational feedback and resolve issues.
Decision Level
- Prime: Assist Department Heads in decision-making for effective delivery.
- Shared: Joint decision-making with stakeholders.
- Contributory: Significant contribution to day-to-day decisions impacting senior management and stakeholders.
