Assistant Manager – Production
Primary Role
- - Handling Machine shop operations & assembly activities & interaction with all supporting departments.
- - Excellent technical knowledge of CNC machining operations of VMC, TURNING, Sliding Head CNC & related programming.
- - Knowledge of SPM and Conventional Drilling, Grinding (ID/OD), Tapping machine & assembly.
- - Knowledge of the latest production techniques and Cutting Tool technology.
- - Fully conversant with SAP (Must be required).
- - Good exposure to Component drawings study & Engineering drawings interpretation & GD&T.
- - System knowledge of ISO 9001.
- - Manage employees through training and multi-skills development, resolving employee issues through problem resolution.
- - Managing inventory on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- - Working in the Machine Shop and able to handle all machine shop operations & assembly activities to achieve Daily / Weekly & Monthly production targets with regular reviews with – Production teams through workload distribution.
- - Monitor Quality Parameters as per the requirements of the product.
- - Monitor process parameters on machines & achieve production as per defined cycle timings.
- - Monitor Production plan vs. Actual Production as per targets. Manpower planning and efficiency.
- - Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and PPC team.
- - Maintain Best Housekeeping Standards & 5S implementation.
- - Monitor smooth material handling and confirmation in SAP system.
- - Prepare and implement SOP and processes for new development and establish improvements in existing products.
- - Work on SOP, time study for all routine activities in Machine Shop.
- - Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams for solving day-to-day troubleshooting systematically with analysis.
- - Coordinate with concerned Departments for Designing of Jigs, Fixtures, and tooling for various developments in manufacturing processes with vendors and projects for cycle time reduction of various processes carried out in plant.
- - Manage manpower for short-term and long-term demands.
- - Carry out different trials with established record system and make changes in documents with proper training in shops.
- - Work & lead productivity improvements like reducing setup time and cycle time with innovative ideas and Kaizen, Lean management & Poka-yoke etc.
- - Interact with tooling suppliers for new tool development & coordinate with D&D team for productivity improvement.
- - Manage the team to address & resolve performance bottlenecks.
- - Solve customer complaints and take corrective action on issues to avoid recurrence.
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory for the Role
- - Mechanical Engineering Graduate / DME with 10+ years of experience.
- - Preferred Age: 35 years & above.
