Manager – PV Projects
Job Purpose
- To effectively sell Solar rooftop systems to commercial and industrial customers, particularly SMEs.
- To work effectively with existing customers (for referrals) and channel partners to identify leads, organise site surveys, offer proposals, close the sale, collect documents for in-house credit (if credit sale), and collect the money.

Principal Accountabilities
- - To sell rooftop solar systems to commercial and industrial customers, particularly targeting SMEs.
- - To inform customers of in-house credit option, and use this facility to close sales more quickly.
- - To ensure monthly targets are met for leads generated (site surveys), orders booked, sales invoiced, and collections achieved.
- - To sell within the stipulated guidelines on money collection.
- - To work closely with Vice President PV Projects and marketing to organise awareness-raising events with industry.
- - To actively pursue all leads and ensure they are met and the CRM is updated in a timely fashion.
- - To conduct Initial Site Survey and subsequently organise detailed site surveys and develop proposals in coordination with the in-house technical and operations departments.
- - To personally conduct site visits to assess the technical feasibility of the product being offered.
- - To monitor that installations are proceeding on time, and to the customer’s satisfaction.
- - To ensure overall customer satisfaction with the working of the entire system.
- - To provide daily, weekly and monthly reports to the line manager as and when required.
- - To keep track on competitor offerings.

Experience / Qualifications Required
- - 5–6+ years of B2B sales experience.
- - Ideally prior experience in selling Solar Rooftop PV / Ground mounted systems.
- - Knowledge about State Open Access / Policies.
- - A degree or diploma in electrical engineering.
- - A self-starter with fresh ideas, and lots of initiative.
- - A clear grasp of commercial issues, in addition to technical.
- - A team-player.
- - Able to travel at short notice.
