Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing 220kV and above Power System Substation/Switchyard projects, ensuring timely completion, quality compliance, and adherence to safety standards.
The role involves close coordination with engineering teams, subcontractors, clients, and cross-functional stakeholders to successfully deliver EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
- - Develop detailed project execution plans in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- - Execute project schedules and ensure electrical activities are completed as per project milestones.
- - Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

2. Site Management
- - Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities at project sites.
- - Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and resolve technical or operational issues.
- - Coordinate with civil and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

3. Quality Assurance & Control
- - Implement quality control processes for electrical systems and equipment.
- - Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- - Address non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.

4. Safety Management
- - Ensure strict compliance with safety policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
- - Promote a safe working environment across project sites.
- - Investigate safety incidents and implement preventive measures to minimise future risks.

5. Documentation & Reporting
- - Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, test reports, and as-built records.
- - Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- - Ensure timely submission of contractual deliverables and project documentation.

6. Stakeholder Management
- - Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, clients, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- - Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
- - Resolve technical queries in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- - 10+ years of project management experience in EPC projects within the power or renewable energy sector.
- - Experience managing 220kV and above Substation/Switchyard projects.
Technical Skills
- - Strong knowledge of power systems, substations, switchyards, electrical equipment, codes, and industry standards.
- - Experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and project execution.
- - Knowledge of renewable energy projects, particularly solar, is an added advantage.
- - Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office.
- - PMP or Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) certification is desirable.
