Position Overview
The Solar Structure Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of structural components and erection activities, including civil activities required for solar/wind energy projects. This role includes managing the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of materials like mounting systems, trackers, fasteners, and other structural components for solar/wind projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of large-scale commodity procurement, especially steel, supplier management, and supply chain optimization, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Develop and implement procurement strategies for solar/wind structural components and erection activities, including civil activities, in alignment with project requirements and timelines.
Analyze market trends and pricing to ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality and delivery schedules.
Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand specific technical requirements for structural components.
Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors for equipment and services.
Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and organizational policies.
Resolve contract-related issues and disputes effectively.
Oversee the entire supply chain process, from order placement to delivery and installation.
Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Implement strategies for inventory management, logistics, and warehousing as required.
Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and minimize delays.
Address and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment or shipment.
Act as the Commodity Lead for procurement of structures, fasteners, and other critical mechanical components.
Explore and implement new technologies, such as using different materials to optimize costs.
Manage a significant annual procurement budget, with a focus on cost-saving initiatives and market analysis.
Analyze market trends, commodity fluctuations, and pricing to make informed procurement decisions.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with price volatility and supply chain disruptions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, finance, and project management teams, to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and maintain reliable supply sources.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supply chain performance.
Strong knowledge of structures, fasteners, and civil & erection activities.
Proficiency in contract negotiation, procurement strategies, and supply chain management.
Familiarity with procurement software and tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in international procurement and working on projects abroad is an advantage.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management with 5+ years of relevant experience managing procurement for large-scale projects.
