JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Cyber Security Analyst

Superior Position Title: Head – AMI Operations

Company/ Business Unit: Apraava Kutch-Saurashtra Smart Meter Private Limited

Division / Department: AMI

Location: New Delhi

 

1. JOB PURPOSE

This position exists to ensure the continuity of overall AMI deployment and O&M in line with contract requirements. The role involves:

  • Ensuring all information assets and systems under the AMI project are protected.
  • Identifying exposures that may affect availability, integrity, and confidentiality and implementing appropriate controls.
  • Aligning security measures with Utility / Apraava Energy Information Security Policies (based on the ISO 27000 framework).
  • Reviewing cyber security measures during AMI Project implementation.
  • Driving end-user engagement to strengthen cyber security awareness.

3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Implementation of Cyber Security Initiatives, Managing IT Risks & Compliance

  • Define, develop, and maintain Cyber Security strategy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AMI projects in alignment with Utility and Apraava Energy Information Security Policies.
  • Continuously analyze and review new security technologies and practices informed by industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with partners to manage Integrated Cyber Security Services and take preventive/corrective actions against cyber incidents.
  • Conduct periodic Cyber Security Audits of the AMI system in collaboration with implementation partners, both independently and with Utility.
  • Ensure protection of information assets and systems by identifying exposures and implementing necessary controls.
  • Review and recommend updates to Apraava Energy Information/Cyber Security policies, procedures & guidelines as per India’s regulatory laws/acts and international frameworks.
  • Assess & implement cyber security risks associated with new technologies or system changes and suggest necessary mitigation controls.
  • Coordinate with internal/external teams to manage security solutions like: 
    • End Point Security
    • Advanced Persistent Threats (APT)
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
    • Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)
    • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

Training and Development of Self & End Users

  • Provide input and continuously work on self-development plans.
  • Share cyber security knowledge within the IT team to enhance capabilities.
  • Strengthen cyber security awareness among end users, including contractors.

Partners Management

  • Prepare scope of services and evaluate contracts.
  • Coordinate with partners, Cyber Security Auditors, and Apraava IT Team.

5. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Educational Qualifications

  • B. Tech/ B.E. in IT/Computer/Electronics/Electrical.
  • Certification in Cyber Security.

Functional Skills

  • Implementation of ISO 27001, COBIT, end point security, APT, DLP, SIEM, Microsoft AIP, MCAS, InTune, etc.
  • Knowledge of OT controls (added advantage).
  • Understanding of IT standards/frameworks.
  • Vendor Management.
  • End User Awareness / Change Management.
  • Strong People Management & Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and across cultures.

 

6. EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in cyber security.
