Job Description
SECTION A: POSITION SUMMARY
- Development of an optimization tool based on generation and dispatch variability for battery hybrid plants
- Support Analytics and Design aspects of Battery Power Plants, build user friendly dashboards in Vena software tool.
- Ensure best practices are followed and work towards improving GtE & Availability of battery plants.
- Collaborate with operations and Engineering team to identify innovative approaches for Performance improvement projects.
- Provide technical support for battery projects across the Vena fleet. Preparing SOPs and Checklist to help asset management operate battery pants more effectively.
SECTION B: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comparative analysis of various battery/storage technologies and identify the most techno-commercially suitable solution.
- Analyze upcoming technologies such as Li-ion, Ni-Cd, and hydrogen, if required.
- Participate in project capture team discussions and ensure timely responses to project requirements.
- System Design & Integration:
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to develop analytical dashboards integrated into Vena software.
- Operational Support:
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support during installation, commissioning, and operational phases of BESS projects.
- Develop operational best practices and maintenance schedules to ensure high performance and longevity of BESS assets.
- Assist in developing performance monitoring tools and analytics to optimize system performance.
- Engage in industry conferences and networks to scout for new ideas and innovations.
- Prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and troubleshooting guidelines for battery plants.

- Improvement and growth in battery technology application.
- Reduction in Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
- Digital solutions implemented within Vena software.
- Effective execution and operational excellence of battery storage projects.
- Standardization of best practices in battery plant operations.
SECTION C: QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mandatory).
- Master's degree in a technical or battery-related field (preferred).
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Battery and Hybrid Engineering, focusing on design, estimation, and implementation.
- Specific experience in battery technology is a plus.

Technical / Professional Skills:
- Battery Technology Expertise: In-depth knowledge of battery technologies such as Li-ion, Lead Acid, Flow Batteries, and Solid-State Batteries.
- System Modeling & Simulation: Proficiency in energy storage system modeling and simulation software.
- Grid & Power Standards: Familiarity with grid standards, power conversion, and storage system performance metrics.
- Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to BESS systems.

- Development of tools based on market research.
- Engineering design approvals for project sites.

- Final selection and approval of tools.
- Inputs and approvals from the Owner’s Engineer for key areas.
