Reports to:
AGM

Type:
Permanent – On-role

Job Description:

Job Summary:
The Systems Engineer (Solar & BESS) will be responsible for the technical design, standardization, and evaluation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for Enerparc India’s utility-scale projects. The role includes developing standardized designs, performing technical due diligence, supporting vendor qualification, and coordinating cross-functionally for hybrid and advanced technology integration. The position demands strong technical expertise in PV and BESS systems, electrical engineering fundamentals, and an understanding of grid integration and techno-economic optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design & Engineering
  • Develop and maintain standardized system designs for PV and BESS, including SLDs, layouts, and control philosophies.
  • Perform technical assessment and component sizing for PV modules, inverters, batteries, and PCS.
  • Support system integration studies, including AC/DC coupling configurations, control logics, and operational modes.
  • Prepare and review tendering specifications, employer requirements, and design packages for BESS components and hybrid systems.
  • Conduct energy yield assessments (PVsyst), loss analysis, and design optimization to support commercial and pre-bid teams.
  • Review and validate electrical studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination.
  • Coordinate with grid interconnection and protection teams for compliance with CEA, IEC, and IEEE standards.
  •
  1. Vendor Evaluation & Technical Qualification
  • Lead technical evaluation and qualification of solar and BESS component vendors.
  • Review test reports, certifications (IEC, UL, IS), and field performance data.
  • Participate in factory and site inspections (FAT/SAT) and ensure compliance with design and quality requirements.
  •
  1. Technical Analysis & Support
  • Conduct BESS techno-economic studies, evaluating performance, sizing, and lifetime degradation.
  • Review and benchmark OEM proposals for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting and post-commissioning technical investigations.
  •
  1. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with Pre-Bid, D&E, Quality, and Procurement teams for design alignment and cost optimization.
  • Continuously update design standards based on new inverter and BESS technologies.
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing within the engineering function on hybrid and storage systems.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Renewable Energy.
  • Experience: 5–8 years in solar PV and BESS engineering, preferably in IPP or EPC environments.
  •

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of PV and BESS design principles – system sizing, energy management, and protection design.
  • Proficient in PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase, ETAP, and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with BESS simulation or sizing tools (e.g., Homer, MATLAB, or vendor-specific software).
  • Working knowledge of standards: IEC 62933, IEC 62109, IEEE 1547, IS 16221, CEA Grid Code.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Adaptability:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic renewable energy environment.

Benefits / What’s in it for You

  • Work at the forefront of emerging technologies — hybrid solar, energy storage, and hydrogen readiness.
  • Opportunity to shape Enerparc’s design standardization and technical frameworks.
  • Exposure to cross-country collaboration with global Enerparc teams.
  • Occasional travel for vendor evaluations, factory inspections, and project reviews.
  • Strong professional and technical growth opportunities within a global renewable energy leader.
